Shylenko O. Terminological phraseologisation in the English specialized texts

The object of investigation is the terminological phraseosystem of the English specialized texts of Astronomy, Economics, Linguistics and Mechanical Engineering. The aim of the research lies in the analysis of the structural, semantic and functional characteristics of phraseoterms. The novelty of the investigation lies in the fact that the place of phraseoterms in the terminological systems has been determined; a comparative analysis of the phraseoterms of the specialized texts of different abstraction levels has been carried out; the structural and semantic classifications of the analyzed units have been elaborated; the sources of metaphors thanks to which phraseoterms are formed have been discovered; the functional properties of these units in specialized texts have been determined. The theoretical value of the work lies in the complex analysis of the special languages phraseoterms which contributes to the enrichment of the theoretical basis of Terminology, Lexicology and Lexicography and the results of the phraseoterm multiaspect analysis enhance the Phraseology theory. The practical value of the work lies in the possibility of using its results in the practice of Terminography, the courses of Lexicology, Practical English, special courses in Terminology and in the scientific research of undergraduate and post-graduate students.
