Essay

Research object: the process of mechanical dehydration of calcium carbonate in a pressing plant. Research purpose - to improve the process of mechanical dewatering of calcium carbonate by a substantiation of rational technological parameters of the press installation. Methods: The theoretical positions of the dissertation is based on the theory of fluid filtration, dewatering and the theory of diffusion laws. Mathematical modeling of the mechanical dewatering process is made on the basis of a diffusion equation with the physicomechanical properties of the calcium carbonate. Experiments were carried out at the department of mining machinery and engineering "National Mining University" using established laboratory setup with special cameras dehydration. The experimental data were carried out using computers and statistical techniques. Studies carried out by determining the conditions for the effective removal of moisture from the material, the analysis and synthesis of the results of measurements carried out on laboratory scale. Novelty: the first time the patterns of change in moisture content of calcium carbonate from the pressure of compression. Found maximum humidity to which the calcium carbonate can be dehydrated during compression. The experimentally found moisture distribution pattern along the length of the sample. Found extraction kinetics of calcium carbonate water depending upon the initial moisture content. A mathematical model of the process of dehydration of calcium carbonate in the process of gradual compression. Integration: The results are implemented in the "UkrNIIugleobogaschenie" (Lugansk), GP "Gipromashobogaschenie" (Dnepropetrovsk), in the "Ukrainian State Geological Institute" (Kiev). Degree of implementation: in studies of the processes of mechanical dewatering materials chemical and other industries, the design of the device.
