Essay

The dissertation deals with the diagnostic value of multifocal evoked brain potentials, in the presence of definite multiple sclerosis (MS) in young patients. It aims to improve the system of monitoring the full neurological status of patients with MS and optimize treatment of cognitive disorders. It has been found that all patients with definite MS have the subclinical visual disorders with high sensitivity to visual-generated potentials of red-green pattern-reversal checkerboard (98%) dominate disorders of attention (100%) and memory (92%). After analysis we have distinguished three variants of cognitive dysfunction monofunctional version of CD (29%), multi-version CD (35%), total option CD (36%). Markers that have a significant relationship with the progressive course of the disease and the number of exacerbations are identified. A comparison of multifocal ERPs and data MRI has been held, the most significant associations with CD progressive atrophic process and the presence of lesions in the white matter of strategic cognitive areas of the brain have been found. The result showed the high information content and predictive value of MoCA and multifocal visual and auditory ERPs. There is also an advisability of using them in practice. The use in treatment of CD in the presence of MS means that effect of the neurotransmitter systems has been proved: in case of the monofunctional (selective) version CD - neiromidinum, in case of multi-function and total options CD - the combination of memantin and neiromidinum.
