Subject of inquiry is comic discourse of the linguistic personality of a child in the present-day linguocultural space of Great Britain and the USA. Aim of the research is in revealing functional and communicative specificity of strategies of comic discourse of the linguistic personality of a child in the Present-day linguocultural space of Great Britain and the USA. Methods of: 1) cognitive-discursive paradigm: the method of context analysis, the method of cognitive discursive interpretation, the method of intent analysis, the method of cognitive modeling; 2) structural semantic paradigm: the method of component analysis, the linguostylistic method, the methods of quantitative and statistic data analysis, the ethnolinguistic method. Theoretical and practical results: defining of comic discourse of the linguistic personality of a child, finding its functional and communicative parameters; revealing the nature of a child’s comic outlook; highlighting the specificity of child’s comic discourse with regard to social, age and linguocultural factors; specifying a child’s strategic and tactic choice in comic communicative situations. Novelty: complex analysis of comic discourse of the linguistic personality of a child is carried out; the status, categorical and functional characteristics of the discourse are defined; the nature of regulatory effect that is provided by a child over subjects of his/her interaction is ascertained; the role of incongruence and reversibility in a child’s comic discourse is explored; the impact of general context factors on a child’s comic activity is found out; thematic and role repertoires of a child in comic discourse are explored. Field of application: implementation of the research results in lectures on stylistics of the English language, general linguistics and special courses on ontolinguistics, discourse analysis and text interpretation.
