Essay

Grounded on a theoretical level, the main components of the national innovation model of development: scientific-technical and industrial potential of the country and public institutions that provide a balanced interaction between the major elements of the system that transforms it into a coherent whole. The category of "innovation" that unlike common in the economic literature, interpretations, based on two-dimensional approach, namely: innovation broadly as any change that increases the competitiveness of businesses through profitable use of ideas, inventions, innovation in the narrow sense - the emergence of new techniques and technologies in production. The need stronger emphasis on such state functions as stimulating innovation process in the formation of an innovative model of economic development. Investigated the interdependence between GDP made up of scientific and technical work, as well as the level of innovation financing based on correlation analysis. Outlined understanding the reasons why innovation in the economy of modern Ukraine has gained significant scale, and the tremendous scientific and technological potential that remained in Ukraine from the Soviet Union is now almost never used, and therefore decline.
