Essay

The thesis is devoted to solving problems of repair and renovation of sewer pipelines located in difficult geological conditions. Investigation of factors that make an impact on the operation life of the pipelines has shown that internal corrosion is the most influencing. The techniques of pulling and pushing new pipes through the damaged pipeline have been considered. The vertical earth lining for excavation while damage control with a devise for groundwater dropping, has been scientifically grounded and developed. For cleanup of the damaged pipelines a technique has been developed and new equipment has been introduced. Use of the short domestically produced fiberglass plastic pipes for repair and renovation of sewer pipeline has been grounded. This included laboratory investigations of the pipe samples and development of the methods of estimating forces that act when pushing the fiberglass plastic pipes through the damaged pipeline. The organizational and technical solutions of repair and renovation of sewer pipeline located in difficult geological conditions have been developed using the developed vertical earth lining for excavation and the short fiberglass plastic pipes.
