The thesis deals with searching for the new highly effective and low toxic compounds with antioxidant, diuretic, neurotropic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, spasmolytic, cholesterol-lowering activity amongst derivatives of 3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione and its condensed analogues. New preparative methods for synthesis of novel 3-methyl- and 1,3-dimethyl-8-R-1Н-purine-2,6(3Н,7Н)-diones, 3,7,8-; and 1,3,7,8-substituted and condensed 3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione derivatives were proposed.
