Object: V. Vinnichenko's prose. Aim: to explore the portrait features and to determine the functions of art portrait in the V. Vinnichenko's prose. Methods: structural-semiotical, comparative, psychoanalytic criticism, gender and feminist criticism. Scientific novelty: for the first time in Ukrainian literary studies the most widespread artistic means of portrait writing are analyzed in V. Vinnichenko's prose texts. Approved in 11 publications. The sphere of use: literature and high sckool practice.
