Object - processes of dangerous goods transportation by rail and elimination the possible consequences of traffic accidents with dangerous goods. The aim - development of analytical mathematical models of flow traffic accidents during transportation of dangerous goods and their use in the improvement of the dangerous goods transportion. Methods - the study used a systematic approach, factor analysis, linear programming, mathematical methods of probability theory, queuing theory, technological and economic assessment based on established mathematical models and other methods needed to achieve goals and solve research problems. Novelty - a complex criterion to the safety estimation in order to define the most efficient route for wagons with dangerous freight and to place the equipment for eliminating the consequences of probable accidents has been suggested for the first time. The analytical dependences for estimating the risk of transport accident with dangerous freight according to freight density and other operational characteristics of railway transportation have been obtained in the paper. Mathematical models for external and internal technological, organizational, economical and other factors influencing probable dangerous freight flows' formation and intensity of the probable transport accidents with dangerous goods have been developed as well. The practical significance - grounded recommendations on the development of fire rescue trains modernized structure that are accepted for use on South-Western Railway to install advanced deployment sites and fire rescue trains technical equipment. The results - a set of generalized findings in the thesis is addressing important scientific tasks is to increase the efficiency of the transport of dangerous goods by rail through study and consideration of traffic patterns. Scope - system of state regulation and forwarding activity of rail transport.
