Essay

The thesis is devoted to the actual scientific and applied task of creation and investigation method of measurement of time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber. The length of the optical fiber was determined by time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber. The urgency is due to the need to ensure the unity and reliability of measurements of time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber in Ukraine. The analysis of existing methods and means of measurement of time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber, and the main factors that determine the accuracy of the measurements, were carried out theoretical studies of processes of measurements with high accuracy. Based on the studies was developed physical and mathematical models of processes of measurements time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber. Based on developing models proposed method of generating optical pulses with a fiber-optic delay line, which provides increased accuracy of measurement time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber. A state primary standard units of average power of pulse, power of continuous radiation in the optical fiber and time of propagation of radiation in optical fiber and developed a standard for the state verification schedule.
