Essay

Dissertation is the first comprehensive historical-legal research that discovered the formation, evolution and structure of the Crimean prosecuting system in 1803-1917, provided a detailed description of the directions of its activities related to the ensuring of the course of law in the region. Prosecutor's supervision appeared June 30, 1830. It was realized by officials: tauridian governorate prosecutor and subordinate to him governorate lawyers of criminal and civil cases, also lawyers of county. Tauridian governorate prosecutor in its activities was subordinated to the Minister of Justice of Russian Empire (Attorney-General). The supervision of the governorate courts and administrations was the main obligation of the prosecutors and lawyers, as well as how and in what terms criminal and civil cases are investigated. In 1864 in Russian Empire was held the reform of the court system and legal procedure which radically changed the structure and the competence of the Crimean prosecutor's office. Since 1869 Crimean prosecutor's office consisted of the prosecutor of the District Court of Simferopol and of subordinated to him the fellows of prosecutor. Not only was the prosecutor subordinated to the Minister of Justice of the Russian Empire, but to the prosecutor of the Trial Chamber of Odessa. The main obligation of the Crimean prosecutor's office was the supervision of the activity of agency of inquiry and investigation in the province, support of public prosecution in the court and prosecution of the criminals. In 1917 after the Russian revolution the Minister of Justice of the Russian Empire was renamed into the People's Commissariat of Justice and the activity of the Crimean prosecutor's office was stopped.
