Kudriashov H. The publishing activity of "Prosvita" society of Left-bank Ukraine at the beginning of XX century

In the dissertation phenomenon of publishing activity of "Prosvita" society of Left-bank Ukraine at the beginning of XX century is characterized. The author attempts to generalize achievements of propagators of enlightenment by publishing activity. The view of peculiarities of publishing activity organized by "Prosvita" societies in Katerynoslav, Poltava and Chernihiv provinces is performed. The aim of the research was to definite conception and development of publisher's activity of "Prosvita" societies of Left-bank Ukraine at the beginning of XX century on the conditions of stagnation of Ukrainian language and culture. The novelty of the research is in the offered division into periods of publishing activity "Prosvita" societies of Left-bank Ukraine. Unique archived and library files are first performed as a sources of investigation of publishing activity of Katerynoslav, Poltava and Chernihiv "Prosvita" societies at the beginning of XX century. Also the analysis of repertoire of "Prosvita" editions is conducted. In particular attention is focused on history of appearance, editorial politics, authors, reasons of disappearance of magazines of Katerynoslav "Prosvita" society "Dobra Porada" and "Dniprovi Hvyli", which presently are named the encyclopedia of Ukrainian life.
