Pavlyuk U. Socio-economic principles of ecological safety of cities population.

Research object is the ecological and economic processes of ecological safety of a big city. The purpose of research is development of theoretical and methodological and practical bases of research of social-economic problems of ecological safety of the population of a big city (on the example of Lviv) and justification of approaches of their solution. Research methods were: methods of theoretical generalization, analysis and synthesis, comparison, methods of mathematical analysis, statistical methods, sociological methods, cartographic methods, systematic approach, synergetic approach. Scientific novelty. Defined features and outlined directions for solving socio-economic problems of ecological safety of the population of a big city, proposed and justified applying of econophysical model of the ecosystem in order to calculate the amount of the own and borrowed outside resources required to achieve the ecological safety of the population were proposed for the first time. The following aspects were improved in the Thesis: theoretical and methodological basis of research of ecological safety of big cities, approaches to the assessment of the ecological safety of the city by calculating the individual and cumulative ecological danger indexes and development of sectoral model of the city. Practical approaches to the reconstruction of treatment facilities of Lviv were further developed and priority directions of formation of ecological safety of the city and the system of differentiated strategic objectives were proposed. Theoretical and practical results: strategic directions and objectives of formation of ecological safety of the city and problems solving related to the socio-economic impact of environmental issues were developed in the Thesis. Level of implementation: the research results are used by the The State Institute of Urban Design "Mistoproekt" in developing of general plans of large cities, detailed plans of Lviv and other urban planning documentation. The results of research are used in teaching of such educational disciplines as "Environmental Policy" at the Ukraine National Forestry University, " Economics of labor and technological safety" and "Economics of fire safety" at the Lviv State University of Life Safety. Application field - urban economics, urban planning, urban ecology, life safety and related services.
