Zmii L. Regional mass media in Ukraine: sociological interpretation.

Object: regional mass media. Goal: to define the conceptual foundations of a sociological analysis of regional mass media and the factors that responsible for their function and development in the modern Ukrainian society. Methods: comparative analysis and synthesis, institutional analysis, systems analysis, structural analysis, synthesis and comparison the formalized interviews with experts, statistical methods, method of factor analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the theoretical and methodological approaches of scientific analysis of the regional mass media as a part of the overall media system as governmental and social institutions of the mass media are developed. A conceptual model of regional development of the mass media through the evolution of the three spaces: information, information-communicative and communicative due to the expansion of media space are analyzed. Novelty: the conceptualization of the sociological analysis of the regional mass media, examination of the state of the regional mass media, characteristics and factors responsible for their functioning in the modern Ukrainian society. The degree of implementation: recommendation and findings as the main postulates of the dissertation research was included in the report that have been prepared by the author as sections of research themes that conducted by the Department of Applied Sociology, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
