Fedko V. Anesthetic management of infective endocarditis in patients with post-stroke brain damages

The dissertation is dedicated to the improvement of anesthesiological management surgical treatment of infective endocarditis with cerebrovascular complications with the aim to decrease neurological complications and mortality during surgery. Risk factors of endocarditassociated cerebrovascular complications before surgery, of neurological complications early and mortality after surgery were identified. New anesthesiological management protocol was developed and improved. The role S100 beta-protein as the early marker of neurological complications after surgery was studied. The performed changes in the method of anesthesia permitted to decrease neurological complication rate from 22,2 % to 9,6 % and thirty-day mortality from 19,0 % to 2,7 % after surgical treatment of infective endocarditis with cerebrovascular complications.
