This work defends results for theoretical and experimental research of thermal preparation of the coal, slightly metamorphosed in the electromagnetic field in order to obtain qualitative metallurgical coke, in spite of the reduction of primary coking coal volume (e.g. J and K grades) in the charge. A developed method of coking charge, containing thermally prepared in the high-frequency electromagnetic field gas coal, which is capable for rapid preheating, improves coking capacities through the partial hydrogenation process. New thermal preparation parameters have been proposed, have been found relationship patterns between changes of coking properties and coking capacities according to relevant parameters. It were made the quality measurements of the coke received from coal batches containing thermal prepared coal. Correlations between the coke quality and the coal batch composition has been found. These relations may be used to predict coke quality. Provided industrial tests have proved that the process of a partial hydrogenation positive effect on the quality parameters of coke. The materials are used in the preparation of a dissertation and master's thesis work at the department of metallurgical fuel and reducing in the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, of students with a degree 05.13.07 "Chemical technology of fuel and carbon materials".
