Kedich T. Phraseology in Ukrainian historical prose of the second half of the 20th century.

The object is phraseological units of Ukrainian writers historical prose of the second half of the 20th century. The aim is the complex analysis of the meaning and functioning of phraseological units and to determine the specificity of their using in Ukrainian writers historical prose of the second half of the 20th century. The methods are descriptive, context, linguistic observation, comparative, quantitative. Structural groups of general phraseological units have been systematized as well as their functioning peculiarities in artistic works. The ways of phraseologism modification have been followed and the most widely used ways of their transformation have been set. The phraseology functions and their expressive and imagery possibilities in the books by P. Zagrebelny, R. Ivanchuk, R. Ivanchenko, Yu. Mushketyk have been revealed. The common and individual signs of phraseological unit usage in the authors' works have been found, as well as the units not fixed by the existing phraseological dictionaries. The sphere is the education process.
