Lystvak H. An Artist's Book: The Problems of Publishing Implementation.

The complex research of problems of publishing implementation of unique art objects, artist's books, is accomplished for the first time. The terms which are used to name them and are often equated are reviewed, the term with optimal nominative qualities is proposed. The historical origins and development of the phenomenon of an artist's book in Ukraine and abroad is traced. The key typological characteristics and selection criteria of such facilities for the needs of publishing are propounded. A modern Ukrainian artist's book as part of the exhibition space is considered, its inherent elements of the game are analyzed. The artist's books perspectives to enhance book culture and reading culture are outlined. It was find out how an "artistic" origin can be represented in different elements of edition. The problematic issues that may occur in publishing implementation and editorial processing of projects created in an artistic space, as well as the possibilities of artist's books as synthetic communicative instrument are determined.
