The thesis is devoted to complex and systematic comparative-legal analysis of criminal responsibility for torture, based on the provisions of science of criminal law and results of study of law enforcement practice. Theoretical and methodological foundations of comparative-legal research are defined and the genesis of criminal responsibility for torture is considered. The criminal-legal description of the objective and subjective signs of torture under the laws of Ukraine and foreign states is made.
