The thesis is a complex research devoted to general theoretic description of legal privileges. The author has examined a lot of legal literature. The history of legal privilege's institute development in Ukraine is researched. The main signs of legal privilege are analyzed; the author's definition of this judicial differentiation is formulated. The correlation of terms "legal privilege", "legal guarantee", "privileges", "legal immunity" is considered in the thesis. The most widespread classification criteria of basic types of legal privileges are determined. The legal privileges' social origin, aim and functions are defined.
