Tomash L. Civil society in the reflection of European and Ukrainian political and legal consciousness: theoretical aspect.

The thesis deals with comprehensive scientific theoretical research peculiarities of civil society in the reflection of European and Ukrainian political and legal consciousness. Civil society is considered as a historical type of human community through the analysis of its historical models. The peculiarities of its functioning in the transitional Ukrainian society are analyzed. The theoretical and legal aspects of the structure of civil society through the analysis of its moral and legal dimensions and the place of individual in it are shown. Theoretical aspects of civil society as the social basis of state, government and democracy are disclosed. State and civil society institutions during the transition to democracy are analyzed, and the characteristics of its state and legal principles is given. The existing obstacles to the institutionalization of civil society in Ukraine are summarized.
