Object: a novel-chronicle "The Fading-away Shadows", a political pamphlet "History of the Rus'", the essays "On the bank of Time", "On entering the Temple", some interviews of the past years. Objective: to conduct a comprehensive genre-stylistic analysis of the V. Shevchuk's novel-chronicle "The Fading-away Shadows" in the paradigm of the national mode and continuum of his prose. Practical value: the research results can be used when writing monographs, textbooks and manuals, as well as on the lessons of the Ukrainian literature and extracurricular activities in secondary school.
