This dissertation is devoted to determining the role of nitric oxide system components (NO-synthase - NOS - isoforms, their substrate L-arginine, peroxynitrite) in the mechanisms causing the activation of free radical processes in the tissues of submandibular salivary glands in rats under the combined toxic effects produced by nitrate and sodium fluoride. This research is also aimed to work out the preventive measures and experimental therapy for these disorders.
