The thesis deals with the distinctive features of the socio-psychological climate of the theater collective. The work analyzed the experience of studying the phenomenon of socio-psychological climate found in the scientific literature. The socio-psychological climate of the collective is determined by the collective's joint activities and, as a complex construct, includes a number of phenomena, which accounts for its multidimensionality. The system of indicators of socio-psychological climate, that reflect its overall activity, allows to consider the socio-psychological climate as a relatively stable socio-psychological state of the collective that unites (integrates) emotional and rational components of interpersonal and inter-group relations characterizing the interactions of the individual / the collective with the social environment. The author has identified the external factors (personal characteristics of the collective members and collective management style) and the internal factors that determine the content and the source of the existence and development of the collective's socio-psychological climate. The internal factors of the formation of the collective's socio-psychological climate include the special configuration of its structural components, which determines the collectives' psychological state. The work discusses the structure of the theater collective's socio-psychological climate made up of the cognitive component (the collective members' ideas and knowledge of each other), affective component (the collective members' emotional and value attitudes towards the group as a whole and other collective members), and the conative component (the orientation towards cooperation with other collective members) which allowed to describe the distinctive features of the socio-psychological climate of the theater as a whole as well as to determine the conflict, passive, and friendly types of the theater collective members. The socio-psychological climate has been shown to be affected by the collective members' personal characteristics. It has been found that the theater collective is characterized by the demonstrative accentuation character type manifested by the histrionic behaviors, strong need for recognition and constant attention to one's personality while the most preferable management style for the theater collective is the democratic and flexible style. The author describes the differences in the socio-psychological climate between the theater departments with the most unfavorable socio-psychological climate being in the soloists group, and the most favorable in the symphony orchestra. The author has developed a training course to develop artists' personal qualities to improve the socio-psychological climate of the theater collective as well as artists' awareness of their personal psychological characteristics. The course includes the exercises aimed to develop actors' self-esteem, positive attitudes toward themselves and other collective members, positive conflict behavior strategies, and self-regulation skills.
