Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the evaluation of morphological and functional disorders in liver and functional disorders in kidneys under the condition of acute toxic carbon tetrachloride injury and pathogenetic feasibility of L-ornithine and L-arginine amino acids’ corrective effect.Seven-day administration of L-ornithine (1000 mg?kg-1 body weight), L-arginine (500 mg?kg-1 body weight), and their combination under the conditions of acute toxic carbon tetrachloride injury (single intraperitoneal administration of 50 % oil solution of carbon tetrachloride at a dose of 2 ml?kg-1 body weight) respectively to uncorrected animals was accompanied by decreasing of endotoxins and markers of cytolysis levels in blood serum and lipid peroxidation products in liver tissue as well as increasing of antioxidant defense level. In these conditions, the parameters of bile production and execration, absorbing-and-excretory, glycogen synthesizing functions of the liver and hepatocytes structure are restored. The administration of L-ornithine and L-arginine leads to improvement of renal function reducing the amount of primary and secondary products of lipid peroxidation in functional layers of kidneys. The most valuable effect was observed after the combined usage of the investigational substances.
