Object - contemporary texts of Ukrainian criminal procedure law. The purpose - to find out and to study patterns of formation, functioning and development of modern Ukrainian terminological vocabulary of criminal procedural law of the late XX - early XXI century, to determine the structural, semantic and derivational features in this area of legal terminology. Methods - linguistic observation, classification, modeling, statistical and descriptive, methods of the component, comparative analysis and synthesis of data. The complex analysis of terminological vocabulary of modern Ukrainian texts in Criminal Procedure Law (CPL) within a logic-lingual classification is presented. Lexical-semantic categories of basic and borrowed from other legal disciplines terms, and within their limits thematic subgroups are defined. Functioning of terms at the level of lexical paradigmatics: hyper-hyponymic, synonymic, antonymic, homonymic, paronymic links between them and the causes of polysemy in terms of CPL are analyzed. It is determined formal and derivational structure of the vocabulary of texts in the criminal procedure law and the most studied active derivational models are substantiated. It is described innovative processes within the analyzed lexical area and reasons for their occurrence are given. Sphere - compiling of Law dictionaries, educational process.
