Essay

The thesis deals with a pressing forensic problem - determining the time of death according to the temperature values taken by infrared devices from warm regions of the corpse subject to the temperature of the environment. The paper suggests using noncontact temperature measurement of certain regions of the dead body with infrared devices. It presents a comprehensive study of temperature dynamics from 4 warm regions of the surface of the corpse (axillary region, projection of liver, inguinal and lumbar regions) and inner organs (liver, tympanum, and rectum) subject to the temperature of the environment. The author gives a comparative analysis of the dynamics of temperature values taken from warm regions of the body surface and inner organs for the purpose of finding non-invasive methods of temperature values from the corpse when determining the time of death. The thesis offers diagnostic tables and an algorhythm for determining the time of death according to the temperature values taken from warm regions of the corpse subject to the temperature of the environment. It also gives recommendations for practical application of the study results in forensic determination of the time of death.
