3. The dissertation deals with the comprehensive analysis of semantic and syntactic structure of simple sentences with verbal predicates of presence/absence in modern Ukrainian literary language. The work gives current philosophical and linguistic interpretation of the categories of existence and presence/absence; formulates the criteria of outlining the semantic class of the predicates of presence/absence; characterizes the main lexical-semantic peculiarities and differential features of the predicates of presence/absence in the Ukrainian language. The research proves the defining role of the predicates valent peculiarities in the formation of sentence models with verbal predicates of presence/absence and reveals the types of structural schemes of sentences with the predicates of presence/absence.
