Nosko V. Selection of kinds and terms of growing ecological-acceptable products of beets in Western Steppes of Ukraine

The dissertation is inscribed to studying of elements the production technology of ecological-acceptable products of beets in Western Steppes of Ukraine, which provides the selection of kinds, defining the optimum terms of sowing, the studying of keeping quality of roots and changing their biochemical composition after storage. The high-yielding kinds of beets have been selected and the optimum terms of sowing have been defined. The correlations between traits of beets have been investigated. The economic efficiency of growing the best kinds has been based. Production technology of beets, under organic production, confirms the high economic efficiency. Kind Cylinder was giving the highest level of profitability (150%) and profit (52400 UAH/hectare). The highest profitability has been obtained by such terms of sowing: the kind of Bordeaux Kharkov (124%) - under sowing in the first decade of May and the kind of Cylinder - at the beginning of the second decade of May.
