Garnyk M. Pharmacognostic analysis of ground ivy herb (Glechoma hederacea L.)

Object – complex pharmacognostic investigation and study of pharmacological activity of ground ivy; aim – to investigate the main groups of biologically active substances of ground ivy herb, to obtain substance, to investigate its pharmacological activity; methods – physical, physical-chemical, chemical, microscopic, pharmacological, statistic; novelty – pharmacognostic investigation of ground ivy herb was carried out for the first time, diagnostic morphological and anatomical features of ground ivy herb were studied, dry extract was obtained and its anti-inflammatory, diuretic and expectorant activities were investigated; results – projects of quality control methods of “Ground ivy herb”, “Dry extract of ground ivy herb” were developed, acute toxicity and pharmacological activity of dry extract were investigated. Results were introduced in educational process and scientifical work of a number of departments of higher medical and pharmaceutical educational institutions in Ukraine; area – Pharmacy.
