Essay

Dissertation devoted to questions of productivity of sugar sorghum, grain sorghum and Sorghum Orizoidum varieties depending on fertilization rates and terms of crop harvesting. High efficiency of sorghum crops cultivation taking into account its husbandry, economy and energy effectiveness under conditions of Right-bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine aiming on biofuel production taking into account zonal bioclimatic potential was substantiated. Due to optimization of mineral fertilizers rates, varieties assortment and harvesting terms yield of sorghum crops reach level of 100–173 t/ha of green mass and 40–53 t/ha of dry matter. Optimal ratio of cultivation technology elements provides grain productivity of sorghum crops at range from 4.0 to 4.7 t/ha with starch content from 69 to 74 %. Energy value of main and by products of sorghum crops was experimentally determined. According to obtained indexes of phyto-raw quality using estimated coefficient possible output of bioethanol from stem juice and grain and conventional biofuel and biogas from sorghum crops biomass depending on varietal peculiarities, fertilizers rates and harvesting terms were calculated.
