Khomko L. Comparative-historical study of municipal law in Ukraine.

On the basis of analysis of scientific literature and archival materials comparative Municipal Law in Ukraine was investigated. The legal nature, the history of the formation, development and spread of Municipal Law on the Ukrainian lands were determined. Institute of city citizenship was determined and analyzed. Historical and legal meaning of municipal law as the right of city communities to self-government was enlightened. A comparative legal analysis of Austrian and Russian model of government in the Ukrainian cities of the late nineteenth century was provided. The main features of the Municipal Law of Ukrainian cities were shown. The role of Municipal Law in the legal traditions of the Ukrainian people was clarified.
