Abraimova O. The biotechnology of production of morphogenic calli and plant regenerants for the genetic heterogeneous forms of maize (Zea mays L.)

The dissertation work is devoted to the creation of biotechnology of production of morphogenic calli and plant regenerants for the main types of maize germplasms. Basic factors which create conditions for successful induction of morphogenic callus tissue, formation of type I or II calli, facilitate to long-term subcultivation without the loss of regenerative potential and allow to obtain regenerants from the both types of callus tissues have been studied. The results of experiments are generalized in elaborated norms of biotechnological processes of the production of type I and II callus tissues, plant regeneration from them and type II callus subcultivation. These norms and biotechnologies consider specific demands of main maize germplasms. It has been shown the possibility of utilization of developed biotechnologies production of morphogenic calli and plant regenerants for needs of Agrobacterium-mediated and biolistical transformation and the obtaining of somaclonal variants.
