Zhukovskiy S. Pedagogical Conditions of Preparing Gifted Schoolchildren for the Academic Competitions in Informatics

The dissertation defines the theoretical and methodological basis for the organization and carrying the academic competitions in Informatics, its objectives and goals. The dissertation presents theoretically grounded and developed techniques of preparing gifted schoolchildren for academic competitions in Informatics. A content of the educational material to prepare gifted schoolchildren for the academic competitions in Informatics has been developed. The Internet portal on organizational and methodological support of preparing the gifted youth for the academic competitions in Informatics (E OLIMP) with the base of programming challenges (more than 4500) and an automatic system of checking their solutions has been created and implemented. This portal provides training competitions to the academic ones in Informatics and offers the analysis of programming challenges and methodological recommendations for the preparation of the academic competitions in Informatics. Methodological recommendations on the use of the established Internet portal in the learning process have been developed and experimentally tested.
