Essay

The subject of the research is the industrial landscapes in the region of extraction and processing of uranium ores in Ukraine. Objective: To improve the scientific foundations of regional studies about industrial landscapes in the regions of mining and processing of uranium ore, the identification of subjective and objective factors of their formation and development patterns for the creating measures of optimizing and predicting changes in the future . Methods: The dynamic landscape method, as well as landscape-geochemical, mapping method, geoinformatic and partially medico- geographic methods. Novelty: determined the stage of development and "field" of studies of industrial landscapes in regions of uranium extraction, analyzed the process of development of the industrial landscapes in the region of extraction and processing of uranium ores in Ukraine, investigated the structure of radioactively contaminated industrial landscapes and their paradynamic relationship with the environment; studied spatial differences and conducted zoning in radioactively polluted industrial landscapes, the promising ways of industrial landscapes' optimization in the uranium mining and milling region of Ukraine are determined and proved, and the prospect of its rational use is already predicted. In theoretical aspect the results are the scientific basis for the further development of the methodology of the constructive geographical research and identifying ways for optimizing the contaminated industrial landscapes.
