Essay

The author reveals the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the democratization process and meaning of "democracy" and "the principle of democracy." Particular attention is focused on the content of the basic principles of democracy and describes approaches to their study, which exist in modern political science. Realization of the principles of democracy in Eastern Europe. The attention to common and distinctive features of the process of democratization in Poland, Bulgaria and Romania. With help of mathematical analysis and statistical criteria were developed forecasts dynamic processes of democratic transformation countries surveyed. Based on cognitive mapping proposed model of democratization on which, using the method of scenario approach, priority vectors reform political systems of the countries surveyed, aimed at intensifying democratic reforms. On the basis of cognitive mapping was constructed cognitive model of democracy. Within which the factors that determine the course of the democratic process, revealing the essence and the essence of democratic principles. Cognitive model consisted of a target factor - "democracy" and impacts : separation of powers and checks and balances mechanism, an independent judiciary , civil consensus, the electoral process , the factor of political pluralism , political, social equality, corruption, free and independent media, political freedom .
