Sereda I. Agricultural Features of winter wheat growing after peas and sunflower in the conditions of Northern Steppes of Ukraine

Object of research - the agricultural features of growth and development of winter wheat plants, the content of carbohydrates in the wintering period, the development and implementation agrobiological and productive capacity depending on predecessors and the level of mineral nutrition in soil-climatic conditions of the Northern Steppes of Ukraine. Purpose – to determine agricultural features of winter wheat growing after peas and sunflower predecessors in the Northern Steppes of Ukraine. Methods – field, laboratory, calculated, statistics. Results: Optimized basic technological methods of cultivation of winter wheat after nonfallow predecessors. The features of growth and development, the formation of the above-ground plant mass, individual indicators of individual productivity of plants, crop yield and quality of winter wheat grain depending on predecessors and different norms and terms of the mineral fertilizers application. Presents the calculation of the economic value of winter wheat, depending on the technological methods, and scientifically based complete mineral treatment of presowing cultivation, also proves economic expediency of nitrogen fertilizers application for the spring-summer vegetation of winter wheat, sown after nonfellow predecessors. These elements of technology provide a yield increase of 0,53–1,46 ton per hectare compared with the previously recommended. The results of the studies are verified in the production environment and adopted at commercial farm units over a total area of 5 thousands hectares in the Dnipropetrovs’k Region. Novelty – for the first time for a conditions of the Northern Steppes of Ukraine specified regularities of plant growth and development, formation of the structure of agrophytocenosis, productivity and quality of winter wheat variety Zira depending on predecessors (peas and sunflower), the timing and dose of application of mineral fertilizers.
