Essay

The research is dedicated to urgent scientific task - establishing of modern laboratory algorithms for influenza diagnosis in different periods of epidemic. Research is based on using complex epidemiological, virological and molecular genetic studies, that allows to improve influenza surveillance in the country and save funds in virological monitoring link. The paper presents research generated over the last 10 years, based on the characterization of the epidemic process of influenza and ARI in Ukraine , the tendency of influenza epidemic process. The etiological structure of influenza virus population in 2008 - 2012 was studied and compared with the etiological structure of the European region. The efficiency of various laboratory diagnostic methods were analysed. Based on which were proposed modern algorithms for laboratory diagnosis of influenza in epidemic and between epidemic periods.
