Thesis deals with the analysis of organizational ad legal principles of the activity of rail-way militia bodies of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1937-1947 of the XX century based on studying normative and legal sources, archives, on the current methodological approaches for examining historical and legal phenomena. The complex processes of organizational setting up and developing legal provision of the activity of rail-way militia bodies during the fulfillment of their duties in the sphere of public order maintenance and combating the criminality are examined in the work.
