The thesis to the analysis of the formation of the Ukrainian telecommunications lexicon and presenting it as a separate terminological system are devoted. The periodization of the telecommunications industry terminology is based on intra-linguistic and extra-linguistic factors. Two main stages in the telecommunication lexicon history are singled and their specificity is determined. The systemic nature of Ukrainian telecommunications terminology is traced, its composition on etymology and the ways of telecommunications terminology updating are studied.
