Essay

The dissertation is devoted to working out of methodology of forming professional competence for the future junior specialists of railway transport which are studying science of materials and its theoretical foundation and experimental verification. The method of training junior specialists of railways worked out, and it is aimed at shaping of their professional competence in the studying science of materials. It was introduced a model of professional competence which includes the purpose, content, forms, methods, objectives and results. An experimental curriculum was worked out and was presented. The efficiency of methodology is confirmed by probing experimental verification.
