The thesis is devoted to the problem of forming the ecological culture with the mentally retarded teenagers in the process of studying the natural history. The theoretic-methodical foundations of the ecological education and upbringing of schoolchildren who need the correction of their intellectual development are defined.The author defines the indecies, criteria and levels of the ecological culture formation with the mentally retarded teenagers of the 6th-9th forms; their age dynamics and potentialities are also shown. The correction-educational technology of forming the ecological culture with the intellectually backward teenagers as a specially designed system is worked out.
