Essay

The purpose of the study is to define the architecture organization principles of internal transit spaces in view of features of non-visual orientation. To achieve this purpose graphic-analytical, typological methods were applied as well as methods of collating, analyzing, modeling and abstraction. Functional features of the main types of specialized buildings for the Blind are determined. Specialized transit spaces are classified. Conditions and factors which ensure the effectiveness of the orientation of visually impaired people in the built environment are established. Buildings' functional and planning organization means, which ensure their compliance with conditions of effective non-visual orientation, are identified. The list of architectural composition techniques forming non-visual landmarks is developed. The scale bar of the space, designed for the Blind is cheated. Proportional relationships between the sizes of neighboring areas of transit enfilade which provide the notable difference of their acoustic features are established. Items of equipment for non-visual information are classified. The principles of architectural organization of specialized transit spaces' objective filling are determined. The results can be used in the theory of architecture to improve the regulatory documents of buildings' design to meet the needs of blind people, in the educational process of architectural education.
