The thesis covers general theoretical study of the institute of legal aid in Ukraine. Emphasizes special importance of legal aid within the system for securing implementation of rights, freedoms, legal interests and responsibilities of both a person and a citizen. Proving the necessity of increasing the volume of secondary legal aid in Ukraine by supplementing persons who are eligible for such aid. Proposals for improving the institution of legal aid by amending the legislation of Ukraine.
