Object: novels of V. Petrov-Domontovuch in their copulas with cultural and literary life of 20th - 40th ХХ of century. Aim: to expose originality of expression of playing factor in novels of V. Petrov-Domontovuch. Research: methods cultural and historical, semiotic, biographic, comparatively-typology. Results, novelty : in an offer work a look is first specified to playing nature of modernism, the role of playing constituent is outlined in existential position of writer, originality of parody is intelligent as a main factor of creation of playing space in a novel "Girl with a teddy bear", the labyrinth structure of novel is exposed "Doctor Seraficus", the role of playing receptions of transformation of biographic material in the novels of "Аlina and Коstomarov" and "Novels of Кulish" are certain, a novel is analysed "Without soil", taking into account playing factors. Industry of the use: is institution of higher learning courses of history of Ukrainian literature of the first half of the XX century.
