Melnyk S. Functional-semantic potential of expressive vocabulary in Ukrainian prose of the end of the XXth – beginning of the XXIst century

The object: expressively marked literary texts of modern Ukrainian writers; the aim: to analyze an expressive lexicon in language of modern Ukrainian prose in complex, to determine its semantics, stylistic functions, to determine quantitative indicators of expressives in works of modern writers; methods: descriptive, method of observation, comparison, contextual and functional analysis; the novelty: expressive lexicon was firstly characterized in semantic, functional and structural aspects in accordance with base of Ukrainian prose in the late XX- early XXI centuries; findings: the expressive theory in Ukrainian linguistics was deepened, the innovative material was introduced in scientific use (in particular graphderivates, their classification and term-designation); the branch: the Ukrainian language.
