Zghozinska O. Nematodes invasions of the gastrointestinal tract of horses (spreading, pathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment)

The thesis presents the results of spreading of mixed nematodes invasions of the gastrointestinal tract of horses in Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. Seasonal and age characteristics of spread of invasions were elucidated. The helminthological research of feed (hay, silage) as a link of transmission of invasive elements was conducted. It was proved that feed in December and February continue to be a source of the invasion of animals. It was shown what histomorphological changes were present in the liver, small intestine and large intestine of horses struck with Parascaris equorum and Strongylidae sp. It was improved and proposed the method of scatological diagnosis of animal’s helminthosis that prevails over the method of Fulleborn and the method of the floatation with saturated solution of table salt and sugar in the ratio 1:1. There were defined some changes of morphological and biochemical characteristics of blood of horses struck with originators of mixed nematodes invasions. It was defined the therapeutic efficacy of anthelminthics brovermectyn-gel, helmisan, pandex 1%, univerm. There were tested solutions of crystal-900, crystal-1000, brovadez-plus and vetoks-1000 to desinvasion effects on eggs and larvaes of Parascaris equorum, Strongylidae sp.
