Kalinovsky D. Recreational resources of Volyn region lakes: appraisal, constructive and geographical background of non-consumptive use

Subject of research is natural water bodies (lakes) of Volyn region. Object: appraisal of the current state and elaboration of constructive and geographic basis of Volyn region lakes recreational resources rational use as important components of recreational and tourist industry' development. Methods: systematic, geoecologic; score and expert appraisal; integrated and component-wise appraisal of environmental factors; cartographic; statistical data analysis. Novelty: methods of recreational lakes potential appraisal of the region, which are based on performance targets and criteria have proposed; integrated recreational appraisal of Volyn region lakes, which allowed quantitatively describe their potentialities of some recreation' kinds has performed; the system of performance targets, criteria and their limits, ensuring recreation in terms of the current pollution state in the region has suggested; recreational dimensional and functional zoning of Shatsky National Natural Park lakes have realized. Work results can be used during constructive and geographic investigations, analyses and acceptability appraisal Ukrainian water bodies to recreational use by means of performance targets and criteria by type of recreation and their limits ensuring safety of the recreation on water bodies.
