Object: processes of institutionalization of money under conditions of economy modernization. Objective: to develop theoretical grounds for institutionalization of money under conditions of economy modernization and to design methodological regulations and practical recommendations to improve the functioning of economic institute of money (EIM). Methods: dialectic method, methods of scientific abstraction, comparative analysis, grouping, analysis and synthesis, inductive- deductive and economic-statistical methods. There has been proposed: the concept EIM that embraces theoretical-methodological grounds of institutional approach to the study of money under conditions of reforming the national economy, it provides for monitoring institutional changes in the monetary system of Ukraine, justifies the prerequisites for modernization; integral approach to structuring the model of the EIM modernization; systematization of priority strategic directions for the EIM modernization; adjustment of concepts "institutional changes", "economic institute", "institute of money"; determination of principles for institutional money environment functioning; specification of classification for institutional money functions on the basis of defining the limitation, control, coordination and distribution functions that interact with essential functions of money. Application sphere: Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, National Bank of Ukraine.
