Essay

In the dissertation the results of cereal viruses distribution on winter- and spring wheat, barley, rye and weed cereals in Odessa, Nykolaiv and Kherson regions are present. By ELISA-test, PCR and immune electronic microscopy it was tstablished that in the above mentioned areas the next viruses are distributed: BYDV, WDV, WSMV, BMV. BSMV was not detected. WDV was detected at first on the South of Ukraine. It was determined that almost all of the studied cereal varieties were infected by the mixed infection in different combinations: BYDV+ WDV, BYDV+ BMV, WSMV+ BMV, BYDV+ WSMV+ BMV. The harmfulness of BYDVwas studied separately and in mixed infection. It was revealed that more often the next winter wheat varieties were infected by viruses: Odeskaya 267, Znashidka Odeskaya, Kuyalnic, Seljanka and the winter barley varieties Osnova and Rosava. The winter barley varieties Tamanj was not infected. That's mean that his variety is resistens to the studied viruses.
